Ikea announces record player that might actually make it to stores this time Ikea, which has never been afraid to branch out into new product categories, has announced that a record player will be released this fall as part of its new Obegränsad line. The record player was created in partnership with house music ensemble Swedish House Mafia and features a bulky design similar to that of many of Ikea's other consumer gadgets. Along with it, the Swedish shop has announced the addition of an armchair and a desk to the collection. This isn't the first time Ikea has announced a record-playing device. It revealed in 2018 that it was working on a turntable alongside Teenage Engineering, which it aimed to ship the following year. The player, however, did not make it into the final collection, according to a Teenage Engineering support page.
