Pokemon Designer James Turner Leaves Game Freak Game Freak has let go of James Turner, the art director for Pokemon Sword and Shield and the designer of various Pokemon from recent generations. Turner announced on Twitter earlier this week that he and game designer onebitbeyond had formed All Possible Futures, a new game studio. Turner later acknowledged that he had left Game Freak to start the new studio, but that he "still loves" the company in a follow-up comment. Turner's All Possible Futures has released a trailer for their first game, The Plucky Squire: Turner was the first Westerner to design a Pokemon and was responsible for the creation of several well-known Pokemon species. Shadow Lugia, Vanillite, Vanillish, Vanilluxe, Vullaby, Mandibuzz, Phantump, Trevenant, Buzzwole, Guzzlord, Poipole, Naganadel, Gigantamax Gengar, Centiskorch, Sinistea, Polteageist, and the Galarian Zigzagoon series were all developed by Turner.
